ANNETTE H. CRAMER
Passed Away
We are all saddened by this news.
ANNETTE H. CRAMER
November 6, 1928 – August 26, 2003
Colorado Springs, CO
Annie and her twin brother, Lewis, were born in Hartford, CT to
Allen and Truda Hofstatter. She is survived by her husband,
Dr. Lester Cramer; a son, Dr. Scott Cramer; a daughter, Terry Cramer;
a daughter-in-law, Wendy Cramer; and four gifted grandchildren,
Katelyn, Corson, Storrie and Hayden Cramer.
As a youngster in West Hartford she was recognized for her exceptional
talents of concert pianist, ballerina and figure skater, all of which
carried over into her adult life. However, as wonderful as these
skills were, they paled in comparison to her talent as an artist.
She was tutored by the world famous Alton Tobey, and educated further
at the Wadsworth Atheneum and the Vesper George School of Art.
One of her most famous works was the portrait of the
Broadmoor World Arena. Her skills as a portrait artist helped support
her husband and young children throughout his long training in
medical school and residences in general and plastic surgery.
She was the beloved wife of Dr. Lester Cramer for 52 years.
She loved the east and the ocean, painted portraits with a passion,
became a well- respected figure skating judge, and loved classical
and operatic music with special favorite of Luciano Pavarotti.
Moving to Colorado Springs was instigated by Thayer Tutt to enable her
son Scott to represent the Broadmoor Skating Club, which he did in
fine fashion. This culminated in his becoming the Professional
World Champion.
Annie was vivacious and lovable, had a marvelous sense of humor. She had
that remarkable quality that draws people in to her because she cared
and she loved. She was a wonderful woman whom we all loved,
we shall miss her and the happiness she spread, and shall always
cherish her memory.
No services are planned. Donations in memory of Annette may be made
to the
Broadmoor Skating Club
